You don’t need to go to a different office to be prescribed a CPAP machine because we offer it here! This device will help keep your airway free of obstruction as you rest, ensuring you receive ample oxygen flow.
If you’re CPAP-intolerant, we also offer oral appliance therapy. Instead of having to be hooked up to a whirring machine, you’ll simply put your customized appliance in your mouth. This will keep your airway open as you sleep.
Some patients may be able to benefit from both CPAP and oral appliance therapy. In this case, we may prescribe both to be used to help prevent chronic snoring, morning headaches, and daytime fatigue.
While sleep apnea and snoring have very similar symptoms, only a sleep test can differentiate the two. Both conditions can you leave you unrefreshed, tired, and forgetful. However, only sleep apnea is directly related to heart attacks, strokes, and death. Testing can usually be done in the comfort of your own bed with a home sleep test, and your results are usually back within a couple of hours. However, a PSG (in lab test) may be preferred depending on your case.
